The 17th Annual Conference of the Organisation of Caribbean Utility Regulators (OOCUR) Anguilla

  

The 17th Annual Conference of the Organisation of Caribbean Utility Regulators (OOCUR) took place in Anguilla,  November 11-14  2019. 

  1. The Conference was hosted by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) of Anguilla, with speakers and attendees from the Caribbean,  Canada and the USA; a total of 80 participants convened at the CuisinArt Golf & Spa Resort, the Conference venue. 
  2. The Conference agenda contained many broad regulatory themes in addition to sector-specific issues. Among the latter were topics such as  Resilience in the Energy Sector through the Caribbean Energy Initiative; Performance-based contracts for Non-Revenue Water; Cyber-security: challenges and opportunities; and Broadband in the Caribbean, to name a few. The Conference ended, 13 November, 2019, 

Sponsors of the Conference included the Government of Anguilla, platinum sponsor; Liberty Latin America (C & W Communications), gold sponsor; National Commercial Bank of Anguilla and Anguilla Electricity Company Ltd. (ANGLEC). The conference was opened by Honourable Curtis Richardson, the Minister of Infrastructure, Communications, Utilities, Housing, Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment.
